We were locked in a room with only an hour to solve a string of puzzles, and find the code to escape the room. The room was chillingly themed in a zombie apocalypse motif, set in a university dormitory and science lab. We put our brains together to solve science, math and abstract puzzles to find the cure to the zombie outbreak and escaped the room.
Epic Escape Games has created the perfect blend of gaming and real world entertainment. As video games continue to grow with more people pouring hours upon hours into them, soon the problem becomes noticeable, lack of physical activity. It is nice to find an activity away from the couch that can stimulate the same emotions and brain functions as video games.
The game and the puzzles last much longer than the hour we spent locked in the room trying to decipher and piece together clues. The game continues to replay in our minds for hours after as we discussed how we solved them and how we could have solved the puzzles faster. It makes us want to try another set of puzzles and see if we can do better; if we can escape faster. All of this churning in our minds, all the while getting us out of our chair at work, traditional board game night or Super Smash Brothers marathon on the couch eating potato chips.
