Christmas is just a couple of week’s away and as you search for the perfect gift, we’ve made it easy for you! We have Epic Escape Game gift vouchers available for each location on our website. It’s also really convenient; just go to the bottom of this page and click on Purchase or Redeem, then choose your location and follow the rest of the instructions from there. Once you have purchased your gift voucher, it will send a card to your email address that you entered and click Create Personalized Gift Card and print!
Now that you have purchased your gift voucher, we have a fun suggestion to make giving your gift voucher an exciting adventure for the ‘gift receiver’ to give them a test of what they’ll experience in the escape room: a gift scavenger hunt! The gift receiver will have to solve puzzles to get to the voucher; what an awesome reward! This also gives you a chance to watch your friend/family member work their way to their gift and have some fun in the process! It’s like you get to the cluemaster!
To begin your scavenger hunt, plan out the number of puzzles or challenges you would like your unsuspecting friend to solve. As this is meant to be fun, it may be a good idea to keep it simple, and choose three challenges at most, with the third challenge leading your participant to the gift voucher.
For the first challenge, you can start with a few puzzle pieces with a message telling your friend the first clue. Simply write out your message on a sheet of paper, or type it on a computer and print it, then cut out the pieces in whatever shape you’d like. Place all the pieces in a box and wrap it up and that would begin the scavenger hunt. Tailor your message in the puzzle pieces to wherever you are hiding the next clue. For example: “Watch where you look, and find your next clue in the place where we cook!” That would lead your participant to the kitchen.
For your second challenge, a really simple puzzle would be to create a cryptex code. A cryptex code is where you write a message on a long strip of paper and the game player will have to wrap the strip around a cylinder shape, like a paper towel roll, or toilet paper roll and that would reveal the word or message. The paper strip could say something like: “Living room” or “don’t be a grouch, find your clue near the couch.” Then when your friend or family member goes to the couch, they see their gift voucher inside a puzzle box!
The third challenge of course, is for your participant to solve the puzzle box. Once they do that they will have a gift voucher to a unique experience and now through that scavenger you’ve created a fun memory! So, purchase your gift voucher online and then take some time to create the puzzles for your scavenger hunt to give that gift, and get ready to be a clue master in your own adventure!
