4 Things To Be Thankful For, When Playing an Escape Room
And some things to look for in a ‘good escape room’
By Leslie Kell
As we enter this time of Thanksgiving, we wanted to help you cultivate an attitude of gratitude, especially when it comes to escape rooms. First of all, let’s all take a moment to be thankful that live escape rooms exist, because they have really only been around within the last decade and that’s definitely something to be thankful for! Escape rooms have so much to offer, and we’ve compiled the top 4 things to appreciate in your next escape experience.
A Great ClueMaster
If you’re not familiar, a clue master is someone who helps you along in the game by either watching from behind the scenes via camera and microphone, or by playing a character in the escape room. Typically for Epic Escape, our cluemasters watch from a control room. A great clue master is unmatchable! It’s so important to have a cluemaster that pays attention the entire 60 minutes and knows just what to say when it comes to their hints and are incredibly helpful; it’s a bonus if they add some fun to your game. Be thankful this season for good cluemasters!
Your Team
Win or lose, an escape room is always better with a great team of friends and family by your side. In fact, you may not escape without them! Take some time this season to say ‘thank you’ and show some gratitude to your friends and family for simply being on your team and for being willing to be locked in a room with you for an hour. A great escape team that works together well could be the difference between having a fun experience or not, and between winning or losing the game.
Well-thought-out puzzles
One of the best things about escape rooms is when they have unique puzzles that are challenging and cause you to think outside the box. Along with that, a great puzzle is one that truly represents the theme of the room you are playing. We are encouraging you to be thankful for good puzzles, because building those puzzles take a lot of hard work for the designer and at Epic Escape, we strive to create puzzles that challenge you, and work directly with our room themes! Not every escape room you do will have puzzles that do both, and so it’s important to be thankful for the ones that do.
A Truly Immersive Story
Escape rooms at their core are about having an immersive adventure; it’s basically giving players an opportunity to enter into a unique story where they are in charge of the outcome. This Thanksgiving, as you play escape rooms, be thankful for immersive stories that give you an experience unlike anything else! Epic Escape Game works diligently to build creative rooms with clever stories that engage our players in a fun and immersive way!
This Thanksgiving, we’re encouraging you to celebrate the season with friends and family in a unique way by playing a one of our 40 escape rooms throughout 11 different locations and of course to be filled with an ‘attitude of gratitude’ as you play! We are so thankful that escape rooms exist as a way to enjoy an immersive experience with a great team and challenging puzzles, and we hope that you are too!
